At The Richmond Gym, it is not just about "getting through" a workout—it’s about building a technical foundation that lasts a lifetime.
Whether you are navigating a busy career, returning to sport, or looking to move without pain, our classes are designed to help you hit your goals.

Our Strength classes are built on a structured, science-driven training system designed to deliver consistent, measurable progress. Each week is strategically split into three different sessions, allowing us to target key movement patterns, manage fatigue, and optimise adaptation - just like a professionally designed athletic program.
Across a 4-week training block, members progressively build volume and/or intensity, developing a strong foundation before advancing. This phased approach allows your body to adapt safely and effectively, reducing injury risk while maximising strength gains. Each new block then builds on the last, gradually increasing intensity, refining movement quality, and introducing greater technical demand.
The result is more than just getting stronger - you’ll develop power, control, and confidence in all major lifts. With expert coaching and structured progression, you’ll not only lift heavier, but move better, becoming technically proficient in every session.

Our Conditioning classes are designed to complement your strength training, delivering a structured and effective approach to improving aerobic capacity, managing body composition, and enhancing overall work capacity. These sessions are programmed with intent - balancing intensity, exercise selection, and energy system development to ensure you get the most out of every workout.
Using a mix of bodyweight movements, free weights such as kettlebells, dumbbells and medicine balls, alongside conditioning equipment including sleds, spin bikes and rowers, each session is varied, engaging, and purpose-driven. Expect to elevate your heart rate and sustain it throughout the session, challenging both your physical and mental resilience.
Whether you’re starting your day with energy in our morning classes or looking to switch off and blow off steam after work, Conditioning provides a high-quality, full-body workout that leaves you feeling accomplished, energised, and fitter with every session.

Led by 3-time world kettlebell champion James Ross, this class focuses on the unique mechanics of kettlebell training.
We bridge the gap between strength and fluid movement, mastering the swing, clean, snatch, and Turkish get-up.
Kettlebell training is unparalleled for developing "functional" grip strength, core stability, and posterior chain power.
Whether you are a beginner or an aspiring competitor, you will learn to move a weight around your body with grace and explosive intent.

Flexibility
Our Functional classes are designed to bridge the gap between training and everyday life - helping you move better, feel stronger, and perform daily tasks with ease and confidence. These sessions focus on practical movement patterns that translate directly to real-world activities.
Whether it’s carrying heavy groceries, picking up your child without back pain, or sprinting to catch the tram, each session is built around improving your ability to move efficiently and without restriction. Through a combination of strength, mobility, and coordination-based exercises, you’ll develop the physical capacity to handle life’s demands with less effort and greater control.
The result is a well-rounded, purposeful workout that enhances your overall function - so you’re not just training for the gym, but mastering the movements that make everyday life easier.
Our Open Training sessions give members the flexibility to train on their own schedule, while still having access to coach support. Use these times to complete your own program or catch up on a class you’ve missed, with the workout displayed for you to follow at your own pace. Coaches may be working with private clients or handling administrative tasks during these periods, but are available intermittently to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure you’re on track. It’s an ideal option for those with busy schedules, offering the freedom to train late morning or early afternoon without missing progress.

What is it?
Our Athlete Development Program (ADP) is designed for athletes aged 12 to 18, with sessions running after school during the week and on Sunday mornings to fit around busy schedules.
Backed by over 15 years of experience developing junior athletes, our coaching follows the Long Term Athlete Development model - ensuring training is tailored to each athlete’s stage of growth and development.
These sessions go beyond performance in a chosen sport; they’re focused on building resilient, well-rounded athletes by reducing injury risk, improving confidence and self-esteem, and teaching new movement skills in a safe, structured and supportive environment.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 3:45PM to 4:30 PM & 4:30PM to 5:15 PM
Sunday morning during school term at 9:45 AM
